Race regulations
1. The organiser of the International Marathons in El Gouna is the El Gouna Marathon Association in collaboration with FESK SWISS GmbH and El Gouna Management.2. The event will be held according to the indicated categories. Everybody who is registered and has paid, is eligible to participate. The time limit for the marathon is 5 hours and 30 minutes (Chip-timing). Runners who do not cross the finish line within that time limit, do not qualify.
3. The race course was measured according to the regulations of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS)
4. Time keeping will be carried out by means of a computer chip. All participants of the marathon will receive a pre-coded chip together with their start number. The rented chip has to be returned after the race otherwise a fee of CHF 100 will be charged. Personal chips are not allowed.
5. All participants have to strictly follow the orders of the race stewards. No accompanying people with bicycles or any other vehicle are allowed on the course. Short cuts or any other unauthorised assistance are forbidden. The technical team of the organisation committee will decide on disqualifications.
6. First-aid stations are located at the starting line, finishing point and along the race course.
7. Sufficient food supply stations are provided. It is not allowed to accept any food from another person.
8. Registration can only be made online or by post with the payment slip.
9. The competitors take part in the marathon at their own risk and responsibility. The organisers are not liable in case of accident or illness.
10. Each participant is responsible for his/her own insurance and must have a personal accident insurance.
11. The start number is not transferable.
12. All participants who reach the finishing line within the given time limit of 5 hours and 30 minutes (chip timing) will receive a medal.
13. Photos and videos taken of the participants during the race can be used without payment or compensation to appear on TV, online, magazines, books or for advertising purposes of the organisers.
14. The ranking will be published at the end of the race and online (www.elgouna-marathon.com and www.sporttiming.ch ).
15. The application of the race regulations is decided by the organisers. The organiser's decision is final. Each participant takes part in this event entirely at his/her own risk.
16. If, in case of force majeure beyond the control of the organiser (Act of God), the event cannot, or can only partially be completed, or, if a participant cannot start (even with a medical certificate), he/she will not be entitled to a refund of the entry fee.
17. This regulation is an integral part of the contract between the organiser and the participant.
18. The organiser maintains the right to make changes to the program at any time.
19. The organiser has the right to withdraw any participant from the race if the race doctor considers him/her physically unfit to finish the race.
20. The organiser is not liable and the participant has not right to recompense other than the entry fee which will be fully refunded after the cancellation announcement.
21. The place of arbitration on any dispute and disagreement shall be Lucerne.
